My Current Job: I work in the sales section of the sales administration department, where I’m in charge of route sales to existing clients. My main role is to listen to customer requests and coordinate with internal teams to ensure production meets their needs. I often have the opportunity to communicate directly with a wide range of customers, both in Japan and overseas, which makes the work highly rewarding.

Why I chose Gotos: Having been born and raised in Saitama, I strongly wanted to work locally, and the ability to commute by car was a big plus. I was also drawn to the fact that the company holds a high global market share for its products and has a stable financial base with a high equity ratio. I think the biggest deciding factor for me was knowing it’s a company where I can work with peace of mind for many years.

Moments when I feel my growth, and future goals: When I first joined the company, I didn’t know anything and could barely type with one finger. But now, I’m able to create basic Excel macros and have been working on improving operational efficiency. Another major area of growth has been my English skills—although I had never spoken it before, I gradually became able to communicate through interactions with overseas customers and our international factories. Moving forward, I’d like to take on new challenges in fields such as medical and aerospace, where I haven’t had much experience, and work on developing new customer relationships in those areas.

Workplace atmosphere: Some colleagues may seem a bit reserved at first, but most are friendly and open once you start talking to them, making communication easy and comfortable. It’s also easy to take paid leave, so I feel it’s a workplace where you can work in a way that suits your lifestyle. The sense of achievement and unity when creating something new with teammates who are truly dedicated to manufacturing is a unique and rewarding experience that only the manufacturing industry can offer.

Message to Job seekers: I think it’s really difficult to know what kind of company or job suits you before actually joining. There are many things you can only understand by trying, so focusing on the people and the atmosphere rather than just the job title is one way to approach your job search.
